American soldiers are serving around the world and many of them don’t have easy access to things that we take for granted in our everyday lives, like snacks, magazines and books, feminine hygiene products, movies, batteries and more. Operation American Soldier gathers donations, packs boxes and sends to American troops around the world. Unfortunately, the corona pandemic has severely limited their ability to provide boxes of smiles as they normally do. We can all help so read on to find out all of the details:

Operation American Soldier (OAS) exists to serve our deployed American troops. Operation American Soldier proudly supports all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. As a local non-profit, we have shipped more than 18,000 boxes to our brave heroes. Our mission: No one walks away from Mail Call empty handed.

Watertown News recently did a story on the challenges Operation American Soldier is currently facing. Here is a brief excerpt: “During normal times, volunteers will gather in Watertown and pack care packages to send off to American servicemen and women across the globe, but social distancing requirements during the COVID-19 outbreak have slowed Operation American Soldier’s ability to fulfill its mission.” To read the full story on Watertown News, click here.
